The Georgia gas price average nudged up a cent, but the impact on wallets remains minimal.
Georgians now pay an average price of $2.91 per gallon for regular unleaded gasoline, which is also a penny higher than it was a month ago, and 16 cents lower than it was a year ago.
It costs drivers an average of $43.65 to fill a 15-gallon tank of regular gasoline. Georgians are paying almost $3.00 less to fill up at the pump than a year ago.
“Overall, gas prices have been steady, with just small increases in certain regions. That’s in line with forecasts showing prices lower than last year, even with a few regional fluctuations,” said Montrae Waiters, AAA-The Auto Club Group spokeswoman.
Local averages on Monday were $2.81 in Floyd County, $2.77 in Bartow County, $2.84 in Gordon County, $2.81 in Chattooga County, and $2.86 in Polk County.
Nationally
Pump prices held steady. Since last Monday, the national average gas price has increased by 1 cent, reaching $3.19, and may fluctuate overnight.
