A Paulding County Elementary School student died on Wednesday during a field trip to a farm in Rockmart.
According to the Polk County Police Department:
Officers were dispatched to an address on Cartersville Highway at around 12:16 p.m. in reference to a child who was not breathing.
The child was unresponsive and bystanders were performing life-saving measures.
Medical personnel took over and the child was transported to a local hospital she passed away.
Police are issuing no further comments at this time.
The child was a student at McGarity Elementary School.
