The Polk County Health Department will host a breast cancer awareness event featuring free breast exams on Monday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the health department, located at 125 East Ware Street in Cedartown.
Interested women may walk in for service during these hours. Door prizes, activities, and gift bags will be provided.
Educational materials and resources on breast health and self-exams will also be available.
From 2020 through 2024, there were 26 deaths in Polk County due to breast cancer.
Breast cancer is the most common cancer among women, but early detection through regular screenings can save lives.
