Man charged with aggravated assault
A Lindale man was arrested Sunday at his Hooper Avenue home on a felony aggravated assault charge.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year old Wayne Lamont Nation Jr. was holding a knife and made a stabbing motion as he moved toward another man, putting the victim in fear for his life.
Man accused of spitting blood at police officers
An Armuchee man is facing felony and misdemeanor charges of obstruction of law enforcement following an incident last month on West Big Indian Trail.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
38-year old Joshua Cleo Mize spit blood at two police officers while in the back of a Floyd County patrol vehicle back on September 3.
He also threatened to burn down a house.
Mize is additionally charged with terroristic threats and acts, criminal trespass, and a couple of probation violations.
Man charged with fleeing, possession of meth
A man from White, Georgia was booked into the Floyd County Jail over the weekend on multiple charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year old Dusty Ryan Brooks was driving a vehicle without a tag and then failed to stop for police.
He then got out of the vehicle and fled on foot.
Police then located suspected methamphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.
Brooks is charged with fleeing or attempting to elude, possession of meth, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, misdemeanor obstruction of officers, operation of a vehicle without a tag, and a couple of probation violations.
Search warrants ends with drugs, weapons arrest
A Rome man was arrested at his Althea Drive home following the execution of a search warrant by the Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
63-year old Timothy Ray Smith was found with multiple bags of marijuana, weighing a total of over an ounce.
He admitted to growing two marijuana plants in flower pots in his back yard.
Police also located two long guns, three handguns, digital scales, marijuana grinders, and smoking devices.
Smith is charged with felony and misdemeanor possession of marijuana, possession with the intent to distribute, possession of drug-related objects, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Man arrested following traffic stop
A traffic stop over the weekend ended with the arrest of a West Rome man on a felony count of possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 52-year old Phillip Gregory Dixon was stopped on Maple Avenue at East 17th Street for no tag light.
Police then located a firearm.
Man accused of trespassing on railroad tracks, meth possession
A homeless man was jailed Sunday on a felony count of possession of methamphetamine and a misdemeanor count of criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
36-year old Cody Alan Powers had been warned not be on the railroad tracks on Redmond Circle on Friday.
However, he was back on the tracks again on Sunday.
Suspected methamphetamine was found in his shirt pocket.
