The Rome Board of Education will meet Tuesday at the Rome City Schools College and Career Academy located at 990 Veterans Memorial Highway.
The caucus will be held at 4:00 p.m. in Room A211 and the regular meeting will start at 5:45 p.m. in Room A201.
Agenda items include an update on the new Rome Middle School access road.
The board will be recognized for being named a GSBA Exemplary Board.
The system’s PBIS Distinguished Schools will also be recognized.
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based, data-driven framework proven to reduce disciplinary incidents, increase a school’s sense of safety and support improved academic outcome.
Rome High will also be honored for besting the national averages on the ACT and SAT.
The school board will also hear the financial and attendance reports, and there will be a discussion regarding a school dog.
The school spotlight will feature Elm Street Elementary.
