The Rome-Floyd County Planning Commission will consider a special use permit for a proposed solar farm at 197 Isbell Road in Silver Creek when it meets Thursday afternoon.

CTEC Solar plans to lease the 25 acres for the solar farm and would sell power via Georgia Power distribution lines under a 35-year agreement.

Also on the agenda is an application to rezone 3448 Kingston Highway from Community Commercial to Light Industrial for a commercial storage warehouse.

The planning commission will also consider a rezoning request for several parcels that front either East Main Street or Jervis Street.

The applicant is seeking to rezone to Multi-Family Residential to construct townhouses.

The planning commission will also hear a request for a special use permit for 1509 North Broad Street, located between Camp Street and Wright Street.

The applicant has plans for a mixed-use development with commercial and some multi-family housing.

Thursday’s Planning Commission meeting begins at 2:30 p.m. at Rome City Hall.
