We are less than a week from Veterans Day, and once again this year, a parade will be held prior to the annual service at Myrtle Hill Cemetery.
According to Steve Rood with the Georgia Department of Veterans Office in Cedartown, those wanting to be in the parade need to register at the Synovous Bank on Broad Street at 9:30 a.m. that morning.
“The parade will go down Broad Street to Myrtle Hill, in time for our veterans program there,” he said. “They have a Grand Marshal this year—Master Sgt. Bill Sunrich. The Rome Fire Department Honor Guard will be leading the parade, and there will be several high school bands marching in it. It should be a real good parade.”
Veterans Day is Tuesday, November 11.
Rood was a guest on Wednesday’s First News with Doug Walker on WRGA.
