Hawaii man accused of assaulting an officer at Floyd County Jail
A man from Hawaii has been arrested on charges of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and unlawful acts of violence in a penal institution.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
32-year-old Timothy James Cainkerscher was initially arrested at East Second Avenue and Broad Street for city drunkenness.
Once at the jail, he elbowed an officer in the nose, causing it to bleed profusely.
Man accuseed of two counts of elder abuse
An Armuchee man was arrested over the weekend on charges of exploitation or intimidation of the elderly, criminal trespass, and obstructing a 911 call.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
30-year-old Austin Thomas Harrison took the phone away from a 72-year-old woman as she was attempting to call 911.
He also screamed and cursed at the victim before throwing her phone.
Harrison also screamed at a 73-year-old woman and threw her chair, breaking it.
Traffic stop leads to drug arrest
A Rome man was jailed over the weekend on charges of possession of a Schedule I controlled substance and possession with the intent to distribute.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
43-year-old Joshua Dewayne Rittenhouse was stopped by police on Shorter Avenue for driving with his headlights off.
He was then found with suspected methamphetamine and resisted arrest.
Rittenhouse is also charged with three counts of misdemeanor obstruction.
Woman facing drug charges
A Rome woman was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop on Old Dalton Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Cassandra Marie Heinen was stopped for operating a vehicle without registration.
She was driving under the influence and was in possession of multiple drugs.
Heinen is charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, possession of drugs not in the original container, DUI, and driving with suspended registration.
Woman accused of having meth, marijuana, THC edibles, and Klonopin
A Cedartown woman was arrested on drug charges during a traffic stop on Shorter Avenue.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
58-year-old Christol Lynette Privett was driving without her headlights on and used the center turn lane to merge right.
She admitted to using marijuana and Klonopin.
A search of the vehicle turned up methamphetamine, THC edibles, marijuana, and straws with residue.
Privett is charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of meth, possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, driving under the influence of drugs, a center turn lane violation, and a headlight violation.
Woman arrested for drugs, gun on Veterans Memorial Highway
A Rome woman was arrested on charges of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime following a traffic stop on Veterans Memorial Highway.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Diamond Denise Garrett was stopped for speeding.
The officer then detected the smell of marijuana coming from the back seat.
A search turned up a small amount of marijuana, a Glock 43X, and an oxycodone pill in an Advil bottle.
Garrett was additionally charged with possession of less than an ounce of marijuana and driving too fast for conditions.
Report: Woman poop on man’s front porch
A Cave Spring woman was jailed Sunday on charges of aggravated stalking and criminal trespass.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
59-year-old Ruth Lynette Gladden violated the terms of a conditional bond by going to the victim’s house and trying to contact him.
She then left a bag of poop on the man’s front porch with a note.
