Man charged with aggravated assault
A Lindale man is accused of assaulting a woman on Burnett Ferry Road in West Rome on April 9.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
33-year-old Antonio Dwone Brown pushed the victim down and wrapped his hands around her throat.
The victim’s mother rushed in and pulled Brown off her daughter.
He shoved the mother and ran out of the house.
The incident was witnessed by one child and overheard by two others.
Brown is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, battery, 3rd-degree cruelty to children, and violation of bond.
Teen accused of stealing a handgun
A teen arrested earlier this week after he was found hiding in a stolen Toyota Highlander on Hicks Drive is facing additional charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
17-year old Isaiah Quenton Dean Ward of Cave Spring entered the vehicle of a Calhoun man and took a 9mm handgun.
He is charged with theft by receiving stolen property and entering an automobile.
Woman found with clonazepam in her underwear at the jail
A West Rome woman is accused of having drugs at the Floyd County Jail.
According to jail records:
35-year-old Ashley Denise Patterson was found with a suspected clonazepam pill in her underwear.
Patterson is charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance and possession of drugs by an inmate.
She is also charged with false statements and writings, and a couple of probation violations.
