Representatives from the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) District 6 will provide an informational update regarding the ongoing Second Avenue widening project in Rome on Monday, May 11, 2026. The presentation is scheduled for 5-6 pm in the City Commission Chambers, upstairs at Rome City Hall.
The purpose of the meeting is for GDOT representatives to share project updates, timelines, and current progress information related to the widening project.
Georgia DOT representatives said the update presentation is intended to provide the community with the latest information regarding construction progress, anticipated timelines, and ongoing work associated with the Second Avenue widening project.
State Representative Katie Dempsey, from Rome, thanked GDOT District 6 officials for continuing to engage with local leaders and residents throughout the process.
