A homeless man has been charged with malice murder and felony murder in the beating death of a 58-year old Rome woman at her Etowah Terrace apartment last month.
According to the arrest warrants:
On May 1, 47-year-old James Lincoln Lowe hit Leatrice Ruth Frye multiple times, causing a brain bleed and multiple injuries to her face, neck, and head associated with multiple blunt force trauma.
Lowe then took $100 from the Frye, who died from her injuries on May 4.
In addition to murder, Frye is charged with aggravated assault with the intent to murder, aggravated assault with the intent to rob, and aggravated battery.
Lowe has been in jail since May 11.
He was initially arrested on charges of 1st-degree burglary and theft by taking in connection with the incident.
