Man accused of going after his neighbor with a broken shovel
An arrest has been made in an altercation on Rooney Road in West Rome.
According to an arrest warrant:
58-year-old Charles Dewey Ellison went onto a neighbor’s property without permission, picked up a broken shovel, and went after the victim with it.
The incident occurred on Tuesday of last week.
Ellison is charged with aggravated assault and criminal trespass.
Two arrested on drug charges
Rome-Floyd Metro Task Force officers arrested two people on drug charges at a residence on Morgan Drive late last week.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
45-year-old Felicia Ann Curry and 40-year-old Lamonte Xavier Lamar Edwards were found in possession of prescription pills that were not in the original containers.
They are charged with possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession with the intent to distribute, and possession of drugs not in the original container.
Man charged with obstruction, possession of Schedule II controlled substance
A man accused of running from police is also facing drug charges.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
40-year-old Reginald Demetrius Chatman Jr. was stopped by police on East Fifth Avenue and Glen Milner Boulevard.
He initially refused to exit his vehicle before breaking free and fleeing on foot.
During a search of the vehicle, five different types of pills and a small amount of marijuana were located.
Chatman is charged with five counts of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, two counts of possession of drugs not in the original container, two counts of misdemeanor obstruction, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, and a probation violation.
Report: Man threw a bottle through a window
A West Rome man is facing charges of 2nd-degree criminal damage to property and battery following an incident on Shade Tree Lane.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
18-year-old Robinson Obed Gonzalez-Morales threw a bottle through a window of the home, causing $800 in damage.
He also grabbed the arms of two juveniles, causing redness and scratches.
Man charged with motor vehicle theft
A Chatsworth man was recently booked into the Floyd County Jail on a felony warrant charging him with theft by taking a motor vehicle.
According to the warrant:
32-year-old Mark Alexander Medrano took a 2025 Jeep Wagoneer, valued at $70,000, from Enterprise Leasing Company in Rome back on May 17.
