On Thursday, a City of Rome Water Department contractor will repave a section of the Avenue A walking path just south of the sewer lift station, across from Dippity Do-Da Dogs and the stormwater pumping facility.
The damaged section of the path will be repaired following construction of the new Avenue A levee gate operating platform.
For everyone’s safety, barricades will be placed on both sides of the work area, and the walking path will be closed.
The path is expected to reopen within 24 hours, once the repaving is complete and the new asphalt has cooled enough for pedestrian use.
