-Cartersville Police Department-
A body was recovered from the Etowah River in Cartersville over the holiday weekend.
According to a Cartersville Police Department report released on Wednesday:
Officers were dispatched to 1540 West Avenue, which is the Leake Mounds Launch, after a body was located in the water by a citizen while he was walking through the woods.
The body was in a severe state of decomposition.
The man’s right hand was also missing.
A wallet was located in the back right pocket of the subject’s blue jeans.
He has been identified as 60-year-old Thomas Odis Taylor of Cartersville.
The case was turned over to the Coroner’s Office and CID for investigation.
