Woman charged with aggravated assault, child cruelty
A Shannon woman is facing charges in an alleged assault at her Calhoun Road residence.
According to Floyd County jail records:
44-year-old Jenny Marie Godwin put her hands around the victim’s throat and squeezed to the point the victim was unable to breathe.
She also back-handed the victim, who is a minor, causing redness and swelling under the eye.
Godwin is charged with aggravated assault, battery, and 1st-degree cruelty to children.
Report: Woman threatens police during arrest
A Rome woman is accused of threatening to shoot a police officer in the face as she was being arrested following a domestic dispute at her Cliffview Drive apartment.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year-old Bryana Saige Hill punched a co-habitant in the home.
The incident was witnessed by two children.
She then passively resisted being put into handcuffs and escaped twice as she was being arrested.
Hill is charged with terroristic threats and acts, obstruction of officers, battery, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.
Man charged with meth possession, firearms offense
A 69-year-old Lindale man was arrested late last week on charges of possession of methamphetamine and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
William Michael McGhee was found with meth and two handguns during a traffic stop on Callier Springs Road.
