Man accused of making threats, resisting police
A Cave Spring man is facing multiple charges following his arrest at his Floyd Street residence over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
57-year-old William Scott Watson got in a woman’s face and stated that she was going to get seriously hurt if she did not stop talking.
When two other people tried to intervene, Watson shoved them and told them they were going to get hurt.
The responding officer overheard Watson talking about dying or killing.
Once handcuffed, Watson turned aggressively toward the officer and started yelling threats.
He was taken to the ground by the officer.
Watson is charged with terroristic threats and acts, felony obstruction of officers, simple assault, simple battery, disorderly conduct, and public drunkenness.
Report: Woman bit officer
A Rome woman, who is wanted in another state, is accused of fighting with police officers.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
38-year-old Jocilyn Shaneatra Watkins bit an officer on the upper left arm as he was trying to take her into custody.
Watkins is wanted on an outstanding warrant in Florida.
She is charged with felony obstruction and fugitive from justice.
Woman charged with burglarizing apartment at high-rise
A 66-year-old Rome woman was jailed on a 1st-degree burglary charge over the weekend.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
Deborah Ann Jackson entered someone else’s apartment at the high-rise on North Fifth Avenue and took pillows, blankets and kitchenware.
Report: Man found with cocaine, stolen firearm
A West Rome man was arrested during a traffic stop on Horseleg Creek Road at Radio Springs Road on Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
25-year-old Luis Esteban Pizano was pulled over for suspicion of DUI.
He was then found with suspected cocaine and a stolen firearm.
Pizano is charged with theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, possession of cocaine, and DUI.
Man facing drug charges
An Adairsville man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on drug charges on Saturday.
According to an arrest warrant:
45-year-old Brian Russell Zappoli had a substance, which preliminarily tested positive for methamphetamine, while at a location on Redmond Court on July 6.
He also had a substance believed to be amphetamine and a small amount of marijuana.
Zappoli is charged with possession of meth, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, and possession of less than an ounce of marijuana.
Motorcyclist arrested
A Silver Creek man was jailed over the weekend after police stopped his motorcycle on Highway 101 at Isbell Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
40-year-old Timothy Lee Connelly was operating the motorcycle without valid insurance, registration, or a license plate.
He was also found with three bags of methamphetamine.
Connelly is charged with possession of meth, operation of an unregistered vehicle or vehicle without a license plate, and driving without insurance.
Report: Man found with meth during warrant service
A Cedartown man was booked into the Floyd County Jail on Sunday on a felony count of possession of a Schedule II controlled substance.
According to jail records:
While conducting a warrant service on Rockmart Road, 60-year-old Ronnie Wayne Nails was found with suspected methamphetamine in his front pants pockets.
Nails is also charged with a probation violation.
Man charged with meth possession
A Kingston man is facing a possession of methamphetamine charge following his arrest on Jones Road on Saturday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
31-year-old Sebastian Duane Barker was found with suspected methamphetamine as he was being detained for a warrant issued in Cherokee County, Alabama.
