Two facing drug charges
A Coosa man has been arrested on multiple charges, including possession of methamphetamine and being a fugitive from justice.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
During the execution of a search warrant, 42-year-old Jay Farrel Jones was found with meth, marijuana, digital scales, glass smoking devices, clonazepam tablets, packaging materials, a large amount of cash, and two firearms.
He attempted to flush the meth and marijuana down the toilet.
It was also determined that Jones was wanted on an outstanding warrant in Alabama.
He is additionally charged with tampering with evidence, possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute, possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of drug-related objects, possession of drugs not in the original container, failure to appear, and a probation violation.
A second person, 32-year-old Mary Catherine Potts of Lindale, was also arrested and charged with possession of clonazepam and possession of drug-related objects.
Shooting suspect faces additional charge
A suspect in a shooting at Banty Jones Park back in April is facing an additional felony charge following an incident at the Floyd County Jail on Monday.
According to jail records:
18-year-old Isaiah Imari Curtis North threatened another inmate by telling him that he was going to shoot him when he sees him on the street.
North is charged with terroristic threats and acts.
Man accused of threatening police
A Coosa man is facing charges following an incident at an apartment on Alabama Highway on Thursday of last week.
According to an arrest warrant and Floyd County Jail records:
Kaceson Conn Johnson caused physical harm to another person, leaving red marks on the victim’s neck.
He then threatened two Floyd County Police Officers, telling one that he was going to break his neck, and telling the other that he was going to put him under the ground.
Johnson is charged with two counts of terroristic threats and acts and a single count of battery.
