Man accused of threatening police
A Lindale man was arrested at his Mark Grove Road home on Wednesday and charged with terroristic threats and acts, simple assault and obstruction of law enforcement.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
66-year-old Archie Leon Waits Jr. attempted to close a door on a woman’s hand during a domestic dispute.
He then resisted arrest, saying that he would kill the police officer and the officer’s family.
Woman facing drug charges
A Centre, Alabama woman was arrested following a traffic stop in the 6000 block of Blacks Bluff Road on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
A vehicle driven by 55-year-old Denita Bagley Holtzclaw was stopped for failure to maintain a lane.
She was then found with methamphetamine, amphetamine, and Lortab, along with a glass pipe with residue.
Holtzclaw is charged with possession of meth, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug-related objects, and driving under the influence of drugs.
Commercial vehicle driver arrested
A commercial vehicle operator from Cedartown is facing charges following his arrest on Wednesday at the connector and Turner Chapel Road.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
24-year-old Isaiah Morrison Vanbilliard was in possession of a pill bottle containing various prescription pills, including the generic form of Ambien.
He was also operating the commercial vehicle while in possession of marijuana and without a valid medical certificate as required by Georgia Department of Public Safety regulations.
Vanbilliard is charged with possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance, possession of drugs not in the original container, and a couple of commercial vehicle driver qualification violations.
Man charged with meth possession
A homeless man was arrested on drug charges at Calhoun Highway at Clements Road in the Shannon area on Wednesday.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
28-year-old Brent Wiley Watson was in possession of methamphetamine, which he discarded by the side of the roadway before he was approached by police.
Watson is charged with possession of meth and abandonment of dangerous drugs.
