Man charged with influencing a witness
A man initially arrested on aggravated assault charges for allegedly strangling a woman is now charged with influencing a witness.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
23-year-old Dravus Chaise Christian Dupree tried to deter the victim from testifying.
Dupree used a third party to communicate with the victim and offer money in exchange for her signing a waiver and affidavit on two separate occasions.
He is also charged with aggravated stalking for violating a temporary protective order by contacting the sister of the victim, asking her to pass along a message via his phone.
Man accused of conspiring with others to burglarize home
Charges of 1st-degree burglary and conspiracy to commit a felony have been filed against a Rome man.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
52-year-old Larry Pierce Jr. entered a residence on Calhoun Avenue, knowing the victim wasn’t home, and worked with three other people to steal approximately $4,500 in property.
Pierce was initially arrested on August 26 on a felony theft by taking charge in connection with the incident.
Man accused of neglecting dog
A Rome man was recently arrested at his Dodd Boulevard apartment on a felony warrant charging him with aggravated cruelty to animals.
According to the warrant:
49-year-old Ronnie Lamar Walraven failed to provide adequate food and water for a dog named “Sandwich.”
The dog was severely emaciated and had a voracious appetite when offered food.
Man charged with terroristic threats, obstruction
A Garden Lakes man is accused of threatening police at Club Fitness on Redmond Circle.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
28-year-old Mohammad Yaser Samha threatened three officers, using the words “blow up” during one of the threats.
He then attempted to pull away from officers as he was being arrested and had to be forced to the ground.
Samha is charged with three counts of terroristic threats and acts, and three counts of obstruction of law enforcement.
Report: Man threatened to shoot woman in the face
A Lindale man is facing a felony count of terroristic threats and acts following his arrest late last week.
According to Floyd County Jail records:
29-year-old Kevin Blake Rampley threatened to shoot a woman in the face.
The incident occurred last Thursday at Rampley’s Alexander Avenue residence.
