Paperwork has been filed with the State of Georgia for a proposed 350,000-square-foot data center in the Kingston area in Bartow County.
According to a Development of Regional Impact filing with the Georgia Department of Community Affairs, the Kingston Technology Hub would be located on 559 acres of land.
The developer is Thor Acquisition of New York, and the project has an estimated value at build-out of $1 billion.
It would generate approximately $2 million in taxes and employ around 50 people full-time.
The estimated water usage is 50,000 gallons per day.
Approximately 3 miles of additional water service line will be installed.
The final line extension length and diameter size will be confirmed at a later date through engineering review with Bartow County Water Authority.
The data center would require approximately 150 Megawatts per day.
The project intends to pursue energy supply through the MEAG Power Request for Proposals, which, if successful, would deliver sufficient capacity via off-site transmission.
On-site, the project is likely to include the substation/electrical infrastructure needed to receive and distribute this energy.
The DRI lists a project completion date of 2030.
