On January 28th, 2025, the Cartersville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division received a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force regarding the online download of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
During the investigation, the Cartersville Police Department determined that the activity originated from an address within the city limits of Cartersville.
A subsequent search warrant on the residence resulted in the seizure of multiple electronic devices.
As a result of the investigation, Dennis Popham was arrested by the Cartersville Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division on July 22nd, 2025.
Popham was charged with 35 counts of Sexual Exploitation of Children and lodged at the Bartow County Jail.
