GDOT awards contract for resurfacing, shoulder rehab on Highway 411 between Rome and Cartersville

The ride between Rome and Cartersville will be a lot smoother this time next year.

The Georgia Department of Transportation has awarded a contract for a paving and shoulder rehab project on Highway 411 in Bartow County.

C.W. Matthews Contracting of Marietta was the low bidder at $5,494,559.

The project will involve 6.349 miles of plant mix resurfacing, starting at the Floyd County Line and extending west of Hardin Bridge Road.

The estimated completion date is May 31, 2026.
