A Calhoun man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday night.
According to the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred on September 10th around 9:08 p.m. on Lovers Lane Road. Troopers say a 42-year-old male pedestrian was in the center of the northbound lane when he was struck by a vehicle that left the scene.
The victim was airlifted to Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga with serious injuries.
Investigators later identified the vehicle as a 2019 Volkswagen Tiguan after the driver, a 30-year-old Calhoun woman, called police to report striking an unknown object on Lovers Lane Road.
The vehicle was located and impounded by the Calhoun Police Department.
GSP says its Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team (SCRT-A) is assisting with the investigation.
