On Friday afternoon Floyd 911 dispatch received a report of a structure fire in the Summerville Park neighborhood.
The Rome Floyd Fire Department dispatched fire engines to a single-story residence on Leland Avenue where heavy smoke was billowing out of the home.
Firefighters knocked back the blaze quickly with no damage to surrounding residences
Rome Fire Investigator Brenton Whatley confirmed that the source of the blaze started from an accidental stove top grease fire in the kitchen.
No one was harmed as a result of the fire.
