-Gordon County News Release-
The Gordon County Board of Elections has been presented with a unique circumstance regarding the qualifying for Gordon County School Board Post #2. No candidates qualified for either the Democrat or Republican party by the deadline of noon on March 8, 2024.
After seeking advice from legal counsel and consideration of the law, the Gordon County Board of Elections has determined that the proper course of action is to allow the election to proceed as is by way of qualifying as a write-in candidate or as otherwise authorized by law.
Any person interested in qualifying as a write-in candidate must file a Notice of Intent with the Elections Office and publish a notice in the local newspaper, Gordon County’s legal organ, before September 3, 2024.
