Man charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment

A 37-year-old Rome man was arrested Thursday following an incident on Lindsey Drive in Garden Lakes.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

Phillemon Marcus Bowles Jr. grabbed and pulled a woman to keep her from leaving the bedroom.

He then threw the victim onto the bed before jumping on top of her and grabbing her by the neck.

A child was in the bedroom at the time of the incident.

Bowles is charged with aggravated assault, false imprisonment, simple assault, and 3rd-degree cruelty to children.

Woman accused of stealing money from employer

A 58-year-old Rome woman is accused of taking more than $2,600 from the cash register of Buckle at Mount Berry Square Mall.

According to Floyd County Jail records and a Rome Police Department report:

Andrea Lee was doing returns and keeping the money while she was an employee of the business. 

She is charged with felony theft by taking.

Warrant: Woman gave vape, cigarettes to an inmate

A Cedartown woman has been arrested on a felony warrant charging her with possession of items prohibited for inmates.

According to the warrant:

42-year-old Tina Lucille Hall gave an inmate a vape, three cigarettes, and a lighter.

The incident occurred back in January at 5 Government Plaza, which is the joint law enforcement center.

Man charged with meth possession

A Rome man stopped by a Georgia State Trooper on Calhoun Road at Burlington Road for not wearing a seatbelt is also facing a felony drug charge.

According to Floyd County Jail records:

46-year-old David Brian Phillips had suspected methamphetamine in his right front pocket.

He is charged with possession of meth and driving with a suspended license.
