A Woodstock man was killed in a crash on I-75 that closed both the north and southbound lanes near Red Top Mountain Road for close to three hours early Thursday morning.
According to the Georgia State Patrol:
A Land Rover SUV was traveling north, actively fleeing from Cobb County Police.
The officer performed a PIT maneuver on the Land Rover, which then traveled through the median and struck the cable barrier.
The SUV began to overturn and traveled over the cable barrier into the southbound lanes of I-75.
The driver of the SUV, 40-year-old Benjamin Alstoft, was ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
